Oceanography - Stage 6 Marine and Elective Geography
Students will hear from expert marine scientists about their research and projects related to oceanography.
Students will learn about the techniques oceanographers use to investigate oceans, physical features of the ocean basins, ocean currents and the forces which make them move, and the role of oceans in regulating climate. This excursion will take place at the Sydney Institute of Marine Science, Chowder Bay. |

Elective Geography
- The word’s oceans - ocean currents, physical features of the ocean floor, ocean ecosystems
- Value of oceans - ocean currents and climate change, El Nino and La Nina, the ocean as a habitat for marine species, economic value of ocean resources.
Cost
$40 per student (paid to Sydney Institute of Marine Science)
Minimum booking size
Excursions need a minimum of 15 students to run, or a minimum payment of $550 plus GST.
Please contact us if you have a class smaller than 15 and we can try to combine with a second school.
