The Harbour School Sydney

Professional Learning

Our mission at The Harbour School Sydney is to provide quality, targeted professional learning for teachers and faculties that address your needs and result in quality teaching and learning.

Faculty Sessions

Programming sessions
New Senior Geography programming, case studies and fieldwork

The new Stage 6 Geography syllabus is due for implementation in 2024 with staff required to teach the new syllabus in Year 11 in 2024 and Year 12 in 2025. Allow us to work with your team to support programming and resourcing for the new Senior Geography syllabus. We will provide:
- a new syllabus overview
- programming support
- case studies
- fieldwork integration

What can we offer your faculty?
We can work with your faculty to revise existing programs and integrate local content and experiences to engage students. We can give you ideas on local fieldwork, and we can work with your team to integrate key objectives such as literacy, numeracy as well as the other cross curriculum priorities in a meaningful way. We can provide ideas for differentiation in programs to cater for your full range of students including HPGE students EAL/D students and students requiring learning and support.

We can visit your school for faculty meetings and lead your team through the process of reviewing programs, identifying the strengths in your current programs, and identifying the areas needing attention. We can provide structure and guidance to develop quality teaching and learning programs.

Revised syllabus release dates:
Senior Geography (implementation in Year 11 2024, first examined in HSC 2025)
Science 7-10 (implementation 2026)
Geography 7-10 (implementation 2027)
