Reef Design Lab

Reef Design Lab design and manufacture artificial structures to enhance biodiversity and habitat complexity in marine, coastal and harbour environments using eco-blend concrete.

Eco-Engineering involves designing and building structures or systems that work with nature to solve environmental problems.

  • Erosion Management Units protect coastlines from erosion by dissipating the force of waves and they enhance habitats.
  • Living Boulders, Living Seawalls and Living Pilings create microhabitat spaces in sub-tidal and intertidal zones.
  • Artificial Reef Pods create caves and overhangs to increase fish abundance in degraded habitats.
  • Modular Artificial Reef Structures (MARS) mimc the contours of coral reefs and create ideal conditions for coral colonisation.

Eco-Engineering helps rebuild reefs, enhance habitats, and support ecosystem resilience.
