Sustainability Projects
School-based projects
Our staff can work with schools to develop projects that can be implemented on your school site to address sustainability objectives. Projects like kitchen gardens, tree planting, vertical gardens can be used to facilitate hands-on, experiential learning in subjects like Science, Technology, Geography and Marine Studies. |
Ecosystem restoration projects
Engage your students in real world learning experiences in your local community. Ecosystem restoration refers to assisting in the recovery of degraded ecosystems and conserving ecosystems still in tact. Such projects are an excellent opportunity to improve student engagement and provide a real world context for students to apply geographical tools and inquiry skills in a meaningful way. These projects have the potential to improve engagement, allow students to explore future career options and see their learning shift from focusing on problems and issues, to solutions-focused. There are a variety of ways that students can engage in ecosystem restoration initiatives in Sydney Harbour, Iron Cove, and Parramatta River as well as some of Sydney's other waterways. These projects have the potential to enable meaningful relationships between schools, tertiary institutions, businesses and organisations.

Active citizenship
Civics and Citizenship is one of the Capabilities and Priorities integrated into the new syllabuses under Curriculum Reform, and is one of the Learning across the Curriculum areas in existing syllabuses. Our staff can work with your faculty to plan citizenship activities for your students, or integrate activities as part of your excursions or fieldwork actitivies. |
