Sustainable Fashion - Stage 6 Geography
The fashion industry is notorious for its high carbon footprint, water consumption, and waste production. Fast fashion refers to the rapid turnover of fashion trends and products through globalised supply chains. Consumer demand is driving a shift towards sustainable and ethical fashion. Strategies to make fashion more sustainable include using more eco-friendly materials such as organic cotton and recycled polyester, reducing energy and water use in manufacturing, promoting ethical labour practices and implementing circular economy principles through recylcing and upcycling initiatives.
