Sydney Seahorse Project
Sydney Seahorse Project Comic
White’s seahorses are a medium-sized seahorse, with highly variable colour. Sponge gardens, seagrass meadows and soft corals are important habitats for them.
Habitat loss and population pressure threaten the White’s seahorse. As a result they are often reliant on artificial structures to provide their habitat and offer some protection. The Sydney Seahorse Project involves collection of seahorses and care for young to improve rates of survival. The provision of Seahorse Hotels provide artificial structures for the seahorses to live on while other ecosystem restoration projects take place to provide natural habitats.
